Karina Metelkin (she/her/hers)

Karina Metelkin is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor who is dedicated to providing evidence-based care that is strongly rooted in cultural competency. She believes that each client is unique and deserves an individualized approach to their care. As a person-centered counselor, Karina is passionate about adapting alongside her clients’ needs and goals to provide the best possible treatment.

Karina has experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, and trauma. She works with individuals across the lifespan and is committed to providing compassionate care that fosters growth and healing.

Before earning her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The City University of New York, Karina earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Biology. Her experience working in a Hematology and Oncology outpatient facility in New York for over 13 years propelled her passion for science and steered her into the helping field of counseling.

As an immigrant and first-generation Ukrainian-American, Karina is acutely aware of the challenges faced by oppressed and marginalized groups. Her goal is to promote acceptance and reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues within these communities. Karina speaks English, Ukrainian, and basic Russian, which allows her to connect with a wider range of individuals and provide culturally responsive care.
