Alexa Connors (she/her/hers) is a graduate of Columbia School of Social Work, where she received her Master of Science in Social Work degree. Alexa also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fordham University. She has worked extensively with adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, identity, life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma. Alexa specializes in working with individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, individuals who are exploring their identity, and individuals who have experienced sexual violence. Alexa is trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and incorporates a variety of other models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness in her work. Alexa’s work is rooted in the belief that all individuals hold multifaceted identities, and that all aspects of identity are important and worth exploring.
